Current Market Value of a NightHawk Vice President
While prices can vary, a typical NightHawk Vice President is worth around $3800, but the price range generally falls between $3000 on the low end to as high as $4500. But a well preserved NightHawk Vice President in its original condition is worth the most.
Current Market Value of a Nighthawk Vice President
So, how much is a Nighthawk Vice President?
While prices vary, a typical preowned NightHawk Vice President is worth around $3,100.
The price range for a standard-configuration one is generally $2,250 to $3,700 if preowned. For reference, the same gun often retails new for $4,799.
Take note that Nighthawk offers the gun in a number of configurations that can alter pricing. For example, changing the frame to a double-stack one (to increase capacity) will add $800 to the base retail price. That’s why different Vice Presidents can have wildly different price tags.
What Affects the Price of a Nighthawk Vice President?
Preowned Nighthawk Vice President prices are affected by the condition of the gun and its configuration.
“Configuration” means a lot of things here. A Vice President is explicitly a custom gun. Nighthawk allows you to configure its parts heavily, from the barrel to the magwell.
To make it easier for you to value your Vice President, we’ll discuss all of the popular customizations for the gun. We’ll also discuss estimates of what they add to preowned values below.
But first, let’s find out how to judge the gun’s condition.

Condition Grades for a Nighthawk Vice President
A Nighthawk Vice President is like other preowned guns. It sells for more if it’s in better condition.
To judge the condition of your gun for value assessment, here’s a guide to the grades:
- Mint - Preowned but never used, perfectly functional, and perfect in presentation. Subtract 10% or so from the retail price.
- Excellent - Almost never used, with almost no wear, and absolutely no functional defects. Subtract 20% or so from the retail price.
- Very Good - Occasionally used, with just a few wear or physical marks, and perfectly functional. Subtract 30% or so from the retail price.
- Good - Often used, meticulously maintained despite showing wear, and perfectly functional. Subtract only 40% or so from the retail price.
- Fair - Often used, not maintained and thus clearly worn, with possible mild dysfunctions. Subtract around 50% or so from the retail price.
- Poor - Abused, very worn, possibly rusty, and perhaps not even working. Go below 50% of retail pricing for this.
Nighthawk Vice President Configurations
A Nighthawk Vice President can come in a standard configuration and a custom configuration right out of Nighthawk’s workshops.
To get an estimate of the gun’s value with a custom configuration, follow these steps:
- Look for the prices of the upgrades below.
- Add the cost of the upgrade to the standard configuration’s retail value of $4,799.
- With that sum, estimate the gun’s value using our guide to gun condition grades.
Example:
A Vice President with the Threaded Barrel Upgrade would cost $4,999 at retail. That’s from adding up these values:
- $4,799 (the standard Vice President’s retail value)
- $200 (the barrel upgrade’s retail value)
If it’s in mint condition, the same gun in the preowned market could sell for as much as $4,499. That’s from performing this calculation:
- = $4,999 - (10% of $4,999)
- = $4,999 - $499.9
- = $4,499.1
Why did we deduct 10% from the retail value? Because mint-condition preowned guns lose around 10% of retail value, as per our guide to gun conditions and values earlier.

- Checkering on the slide’s rear = $200
- Serration on the slide’s rear = $125
Nighthawk vs. Aftermarket Customization Values
All of the customizations we’ve discussed so far are ones done by Nighthawk. An aftermarket customization is one not applied by Nighthawk.
Say you order the gun from Nighthawk and then have a different company refinish it, for example. That’s an aftermarket customization.
These aren’t too common for Nighthawk guns. That’s because Nighthawk guns are custom ones from the start, so most buyers just get their customization done by Nighthawk itself.
Unless an aftermarket customization is done very well and by a recognized artisan or brand, it will often lose more value than a Nighthawk customization in the preowned market. That’s because it’s not part of the gun’s “factory” configuration.
For aftermarket customization, expect value retention to often range from 20% to 50% of what you originally paid for the customization. The upgrade’s condition can drive this up or down too.
Example:
You add an aftermarket sight to the Nighthawk Vice President. Say these things are true:
- The sight is worth $50 new.
- The sight is in superb, nearly mint condition when you decide to sell it with the gun.
This means you can add as much as 50% of the sight’s value to your gun’s sale price. That’s $25.
