1. Set Up Your GunBroker Account
Creating an Account
If you’re an existing user, log in to your account and go to “extended verification” right away.
If you're new to GunBroker, you'll need to start by creating an account:
- Navigate to the registration page to create an account.
- You may prefill the e-form using your phone number and date of birth or fill it out manually.
- After submitting your information, you'll receive an email containing a registration code.
- Activate your account by clicking the "Activate Your Account" link in the email.
- If the link doesn't work, you have the option to manually input the registration code on the activation page.
Extended Verification
In order to sell a gun on GunBroker, you need to undergo “extended verification.” The verification process you’ve undergone during the creation of your account is just the standard verification.
- In your dashboard, click the “sell” tab.
- Click “extended verification.”
- Double-check if the contact information you provided during the standard verification is correct. Otherwise, edit it.
- Extended verification requires a $2.00 fee. Tick the box to understand that you’ll be charged.
- Answer four security questions.
- The results will be displayed immediately if you’ve passed or not.
- Once passed, you can click the “sell” tab once again to start listing an item.
Note: Be careful in doing the extended verification process since you’re only permitted to do it once every 36 hours.
Billing Information
You will need to set up at least one billing information in order to sell on GunBroker. You can choose to add your credit card, bank account, or both.
Credit Card
- Once logged in, click on the welcome menu on the top-right corner.
- Click “My GunBroker.” This will route you to your dashboard.
- On the left side panel, click on the “Account” drop-down menu. Then, click “Billing Info.”
- Scroll down to the “Credit Card Information” area and click “Add Credit Card.”
- Fill out the form with your credit card information and click “Save.”
- Tick “Use as primary auto payment method?” and click “Submit.”
Bank Account
- Once logged in, click on the welcome menu on the top-right corner.
- Click “My GunBroker.” This will route you to your dashboard.
- On the left side panel, click on the “Account” drop-down menu. Then, click “Billing Info.”
- Scroll down to the “Bank Information” area and click “Add Bank Account.”
- Fill out the form with your bank account information and click “Save.”
- Your bank account will be saved, but it’s not yet activated.
Note on bank account:
- GunBroker will make a temporary deposit of less than $1.00 to verify account ownership.
- The deposit will be done the next business day; it will reflect on your account in 1-3 business days.
- The exact amount deposited will serve as your code for verification. You will need to input it by clicking “Validate Account” under the “Bank Information” area.
2. Create Your Listing
There are three auction types in which you can sell a gun on GunBroker:
- Auction. Aside from standard bidding, bidders can have a “buy now” option as well, which has a fixed price for buyers to immediately buy the item at a fixed price any time.
- Fixed Price. Guns under “fixed price” can only be bought at a fixed price.
Auction
- Go to your selling dashboard by clicking the “sell” tab.
- Click “list an item.”
- Select a category.
- Add images of your gun.
- Write the item details:
- Item title
- Item subtitle (optional)
- Item description
- Item condition
- Additional terms (optional)
- Indicate payment method, shipping details, and taxes.
- Choose Standard Auction or Short-Term Auction.
- Input the starting bid for your gun and the exact price people can buy it instantly. Fill out the rest of the bidding details.
- Review the summary of your listing and its preview (how it looks on the website) and click “List My Item!” once satisfied.
Fixed Price
- Go to your selling dashboard by clicking the “sell” tab.
- Click “list an item.”
- Select a category.
- Add images of your gun.
- Write the item details:
- Item title
- Item subtitle (optional)
- Item description
- Item condition
- Additional terms (optional)
- Indicate payment method, shipping details, and taxes.
- Choose Fixed Price.
- Input the fixed price of your gun, including the duration of the listing.
- Choose whether you’d like to accept offers or not.
- Review the summary of your listing and its preview (how it looks on the website) and click “List My Item!” once satisfied.
3. Boost Your Listing
You can choose add-on services to boost your listing:
- Showcase my listing (+$4.95)
- Sponsor my listing on-site (+$4.00)
- Highlight my listing (+$2.00)
- Make my listing title colored (+$1.00)
- Scheduled listing (+$0.10)
- Feature my listing (+$2.95)
